All about touch-screens
The touch-screens are part of our everyday life but just ten years ago mobile phones or computers that interact with the user by simply touching the screen were like from the distant future or a science fiction movie.
The history of the touch-screens starts back in 1965 when the first touch sensing technology was created. Since then several different technologies were developed and later implemented in different systems. (more…)

The top scientific breakthroughs of last decade
The first decade of the new millennium was a very good period for science. Scientists from all areas made significant discoveries throughout the past ten years. For example the Neanderthal genome sequence which ancient DNA researchers obtained in 2010, is considered one of the most important breakthroughs in the last decade.
The quantum simulator was also a huge achievement of physicists. This incredible machine offers new ways of study and gives important answers to quantum theoretical problems. (more…)

Clean energy advantages
The clean energy, also known as renewable, is the energy that comes from different natural resources like wind, sunlight, rain, tides and even geothermal heat. These natural resources are not consumed in the process of generating energy and the nature recreates them continuously. The fossil fuels currently used for generating energy pollute the environment and they can be found only in limited quantities. This is why the use of clean energy becomes a necessity rather than a temporary trend. (more…)

The flying car, reality or fiction?
Since the beginning of human kind, the man dreamed about flying. Thanks to the technologies developed in the last 150 years, the man created the first car (1886) and then the first airplane (around 1900). Now, century later, a new vehicle revolutionizes the way we travel. It’s the flying car.
A private company created by Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduates, Terrafugia, developed the first vehicle that can be used both as car and airplane. Transition is in fact an airplane that can fold its wings in just 30 seconds and then can be driven like a normal 4 wheel car. (more…)

Do the students learn mathematics better using the computer?
The computer became an essential asset in the everyday life of students. The computer is mainly used for research and homework, but everyone thinks that the computer will eventually replace the teachers. Some companies and universities even developed software that teachers use every day in math classes.
Mathematica Policy Research Inc. in Princeton, New Jersey conducted a two years study to determine if the special software helps students to learn better mathematics. The total cost of the study is about $14.5 million, but the money comes from the U.S. Department of Education. (more…)
